The IsisIQ™ platform, has the potential to deliver the clinical benefits of iontophoresis with the convenience and cost effectiveness of a passive transdermal patch. The IsisIQ platform is a compact, wireless, active intelligent patch using a patented design that implements advances in microprocessors, thin film batteries, biopolymers and proprietary adhesives that allow for widespread use in a variety of applications. The Isis patch is constructed from medical grade materials that are thin, flexible, easy to apply, and comfortable, and can be used by an individual of any age, gender, ethnicity or skin type. With the introduction of the Biobliss™ patch, Isis will first apply its advanced transdermal delivery to the science of anti-aging and anti-wrinkle to speed the uptake of well-known anti-aging agents, shortening the time to see results from weeks to one hour.
Biobliss delivers multiple anti-aging active ingredients which are generally preferred by dermatologists for their efficacy: hyaluronic acid, collagen stimulating peptides and vitamin B5. The application takes one hour and has shown clinical efficacy in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, a claim that cannot be matched by skin creams or similar topical products which can take months to provide results.
In addition to Biobliss, Isis has identified a number of other potential business opportunities in pharmaceutical applications which Isis would consider evaluating and pursuing after the full launch and roll-out of Biobliss. These opportunities appear particularly compelling where the IsisIQ patch’s ability to precisely dose therapeutic ingredients at specific time intervals would offer patients a dramatic improvement in compliance and personalized medicine. Isis has been working with a leading marketing consultant firm to narrow those applications to those that offer the best match of market potential to our technology and resources.
